Shipping fees are automatically calculated at checkout based on the customer's order amount or total product weight, depending on the shipping rule configured for the order.

Why ELEXBIG Uses Standard Shipping Fees

ELEXBIG uses standardized shipping fees to provide a consistent, transparent, and predictable checkout experience for customers across the marketplace.

This helps to:

• Keep shipping charges consistent across ELEXBIG
• Show customers their shipping cost before completing checkout
• Prevent unexpected shipping charges after an order is placed
• Maintain a simple and fair marketplace experience
• Protect both customers and vendors during order fulfillment

Vendors cannot change, override, or add to the ELEXBIG shipping fee for an individual order.

Shipping Based on Order Amount

When the order-amount shipping rule applies, the shipping fee is determined by the total value of the customer's order.

Shipping Fee: ₦1,500

Order Amount: ₦3,000 – ₦4,999
Shipping Fee: ₦2,000

Order Amount: ₦5,000 – ₦9,000
Shipping Fee: ₦2,500

Order Amount: ₦20,000 – ₦49,999
Shipping Fee: ₦4,000

Shipping Based on Total Order Weight

Where weight-based shipping applies, the shipping fee is calculated based on the combined weight of the products in the order.

Total Weight: 0–500g
Shipping Fee: ₦1,500

Total Weight: 501g–1kg
Shipping Fee: ₦2,000

Total Weight: 1.01–2kg
Shipping Fee: ₦2,500

Total Weight: 2.01–5kg
Shipping Fee: ₦4,000

Total Weight: 5.01–10kg
Shipping Fee: ₦6,000

Total Weight: 10kg+
Shipping Fee: ₦8,000+

When listing a product, vendors must always enter the correct product weight

When weight-based shipping is used, ELEXBIG uses the product weights to determine the total weight of the order and calculate the applicable shipping fee.

Incorrect product weight information may result in an inaccurate shipping calculation.

🚫 Vendors Must Not Request Extra Shipping Fees

The shipping fee displayed to the customer at checkout is the official ELEXBIG shipping fee for that order.

Vendors must not contact customers and request additional money for shipping after an order has been placed.
For example, vendors must not send a message such as:

“The shipping fee is not enough. Please send an additional ₦3,000 for delivery.”

This is not permitted on ELEXBIG.
If you believe the standard shipping fee is insufficient for a particular order, contact ELEXBIG Support instead of requesting additional payment from the customer.

Why is this important?

Keeping shipping payments within ELEXBIG helps:

• Protect customers from unexpected charges
• Keep order payments transparent
• Prevent payment disputes
• Protect vendors from payment-related issues
• Allow ELEXBIG to properly manage customer complaints and disputes

Do not request or accept additional shipping payments outside the ELEXBIG order system.

🆓 How to Offer Free Shipping

If you want to offer free shipping on a product or promotion, do not change the standard ELEXBIG shipping fee or ask the customer to pay a different amount.

Instead, use the Discount option in your Vendor Dashboard to create a promotion for the product.

This allows you to use a discount to offset the shipping cost while keeping the ELEXBIG shipping system unchanged.

The vendor can use their discount strategy to absorb the shipping cost while ELEXBIG continues to calculate shipping normally.

Vendor Shipping Responsibility

ELEXBIG vendors are responsible for fulfilling and shipping their own orders.

Vendors are responsible for:

• Preparing the customer's order
• Properly packaging the product
• Arranging delivery
• Providing accurate product information
• Entering the correct product weight
• Updating the order status when required

ELEXBIG manages the marketplace shipping rules and customer-facing shipping fee.

Remember: Vendors fulfill the orders, but the shipping fee is controlled by ELEXBIG and cannot be changed by vendors.
